

Most Porn addiction advice are short term bandaids
When you search “how to quit porn” on google, the results & advice are a joke.
Most quitting solutions only focus on a third of the problem. They rely on Brain Rewiring, Trigger management or Dopamine management, etc.
The problem is these are all external factors (except brain rewiring)
Men start avoiding triggers, they start a hobby, perhaps they get married, and addiction only comes back with a vengeance after the honeymoon period. Men use Accountability, or trigger management, becoming reliant on external factors to manage their internal state, becoming fragile – never able to have any stress incase they relapse.
The brain rewiring effect is powerful, but it doesn’t actually touch the root cause of porn addiction – it’s still a short term bandaid.
Men have forgotten how to redirect, transmute or convert sexual energy into vitality & brain power.
Knowing how to shift sexual energy from your nutsack and move it up to your head and body is a skill that any man can learn. It is talked about in the Ancient texts of Greece, India & China where semen retention was NORMAL.
When you learn transmutation, it doesn’t matter if a beautiful lady walks past, it doesn’t matter if porn ads pop up on your phone, it doesn’t matter if your dopamine shoots sky high or crashes.
Western Science AND Eastern Transmutation are both needed for long lasting end to Pornography addiction.


The actual root cause of urges
At the end of the day you can find all the triggers in the world & rewire your brain – but if your arousal energy moves towards your penis instead of up to your head – you will still have urges – transmutation is about alchemising the urges at source – treating the root cause – not externally focused bandaids.
So what are these Eastern Transmutation Practises?

Eastern Alchemy Practises
The US Navy use meditation to lower their heart rate, to beat lie detectors, amongst other things. The human mind is therefore capable of controlling many “uncontrollable” parts of the body.
Using the “micro-cosmic orbit” concept from Taoism, we can learn to channel energy away from the groin and circulate it around the body. It takes weeks/months to see results – but with enough skill this transmutes the urges, but then allows you to last longer in bed, and eventually after mastery you can become a multi-orgasmic male (where nothing comes out). You can have as many orgasms as you want, but feeling stronger (not weaker) after each one.


Bandha/Breathwork/Yoga
Alongside the “micro-cosmic orbit”, we contract the pelvic floor (aka kegels or mula bandha) and we breath in deeply while we imagine energy shifting from the balls to the head, then we imagine the energy flowing down from the head , over the face and front of the body, to the stomach.
We can use seated postures to enhance the transmutation feeling. Actually just sitting in certain postures alone is effective at reducing urges.
(N.B. its important to release tension in the body before doing this practise or energy can get stuck causing lots of pain – back waves and stretches of the spine)
Mantra/Prayer/Fasting
The beauty about Mantra is that you don’t need to be religious, or believe it works to get the effects. Mantra will clarify the mind of sexual thoughts and the body of urges.
I advocate for Prayer or Mantra if you are religious, or Guided Meditation/Affirmations/Hypnosis if you prefer another route.
Fasting is one of the most powerful ways of destroying urges. I’m not technically Christian, but I am inspired by many today who have done 21 day fasts, it’s becoming more popular. I have not managed 21 days yet, but even just intermittent fasting is a game changer: for urges but also for health (google “Autophagy”)

Western Science Approaches
Dopamine Loading
Most porn addiction help websites are namby-pamby & vague.
Let’s list the core western concepts to quitting porn.
If you can delay as many high/cheap dopaminergic actions as possible, till as late as possible in the day. This will stop a cascade.
Where the sugar, leads to the doomscrolling, leads to 3 hours of youtube, leads to porn.


Emotional Regulation & Triggers
Instead of facing issues head on, a subconscious coping strategy is distracting ourselves with porn or other things.
Find your outlet for emotional regulation: it could be sports, martial arts, or something creative, etc.
Humans didn’t evolve staring at screens all day, like we do now – Get up!
If you are serious about Semen Retention – you should be doing DAILY gym AND/OR meditation
Identity Shifting & Lasting longer in bed
If you can’t define what a porn free life looks life – you will never get there.
What does a man who doesn’t need porn do everyday? his likes, dislikes, hobbies? What are his behaviours? Become that man.
IMPORTANT: what does a healthy sex life after porn addiction look like? It’s important to learn Taoist/Tantric / Other techniques to make sex last longer than the average of 5 minutes.
Healthy sex is supposed to last hours in the Taoist view, this ALONE might be causing reliance on porn. You can’t quit porn if you don’t have the ability/skills to have fullfilling and long sex after you quit.


Rewiring the Brain
Getting to 60-90 days of no porn has a powerful effect on rewiring neural pathways which were reinforcing addiction behaviours in the brain.
Do everything you can to get free for this length of time.
95%+ of your daily thoughts are due to your subconscious. Humans actually live on autopilot.
Quitting: Cold Turkey vs Cadence Approach
This might ruffle feathers, but many Doctors, me, many influencers all think that the Cadence approach is a good method: where you fap once a day, then once every two days, and keep extending this. This is a very powerful way to stop porn addiction.
But what I notice is this concept is frequently downvoted on Reddit – and I find myself wondering if those that downvote it are the ones who are struggling with porn & have no success but think they know best – while those who successfully beat porn addiction are saying that the Cadence approach is fine.
Either way both approaches can be tried.
